Throne Title: Mighty God

Main Idea: Jesus is the king with the power to lead a world in need.


What does the title mean?

  • Mighty: Mighty refers to being heroic, brave, and powerful. Jesus is not just mighty;  He is almighty, signifying that he possesses all power. He has complete authority over everything and is omnipotent, having unlimited power and authority.

  • God: Jesus is God. Jesus isn’t just the son of God. He’s God the son. He’s The Trinity—one God who exists in three persons.

How do we see it in the life of Jesus?

  • Jesus said he was God.

  • Jesus did the works of God.

  • Jesus received worship as God.

Why does it matter to our lives today?

  • He deserves the world’s worship. 

  • He can help the weakest one.


Questions For Greater Discussion

Jesus SAID he was God:

  1. Why is it essential that we think of Jesus not just as the Son of God but also as God the Son?

  2. When we think about Jesus as almighty, how does that set Him apart from other entities (leaders, authority figures, etc.) who are mighty?

Jesus did the WORKS of God:

  1. Can you think of a time in your life when you saw God do something mighty? What impact did it have on you and those around you?

  2. How does the power of God change the daily life of a believer?

  3. Who are some people in your life who are weak and in need of Jesus?

Jesus received WORSHIP as God:

  1. If our victory is found in our surrender, are there areas or things in your life that you may need to surrender further to the Lord?  

  2. Please read Revelation 19:11-15. What does this tell you about God?

Practical Application:

  1. What does it mean for Jesus to have the "power to lead a world in need"? How do you see this playing out today?

  2. In what ways does this understanding of Jesus as Mighty God inspire you to share His message with others?

  3. What does worshiping Jesus as the Mighty God look like daily?
