Sermon Discussion: Genesis Week 48 - Chapter 31:17-55

In this edition of UBC "Sermon Discussions" Pastor Jason answers questions related to his Genesis 31:17-55 sermon.

The main idea for the sermon was: God mercifully preserves His covenant people and sets us apart from the world.

Questions discussed in this episode:

Dreams. We see God communicating through a dream in this passage. Does he still do that today? And if he does, how do we discern that God is the one speaking?

It is easy for us to act out in anger. What are ways that can help us from doing so and is there ever a time when anger is justified?

Do you believe God still intervenes in the lives of his people today to preserve his covenant (promises)? Do you have some examples in your life where he has done so?

God’s chosen people are called to be “set apart.” So how are Christ followers supposed to love the people of this world but live apart from the world?

Is it possible to live so apart from the world that you begin to ostracize those you should be sharing the gospel with?

As a reminder we have created a place where you can send us your questions regarding the sermons or topics we discuss in these podcasts. Send them to sermonquestions@ubcbeavercreek.com.
